Haveyou ever tried a popular diet or weight loss pill that you've seen on television or that was suggested by a friend, lost the weight that you wanted only to gain it back plus ten pounds in the end? Commercials on television that make crazy statements such as "eat all the food you want and still lose 20 pounds in a week" is just unheard of in real life. Will a person lose weight on these diets or by taking diet pills? Maybe. But the problem arises when people attempt to maintain what they have lost. If people do not have the discipline to lose the weight through exercise and proper eating, how do they expect to have the discipline to do the things necessary to keep the weight off?
Our society has gotten away from good old fashion mind set of "Hard Work" if you would and we have become spoiled by getting things "Right Now" with little or no effort. For example, technology has given us the power to have things right when we want it. If we want to buy something, we don't have to get up and walk around a mall or store to find what we want to buy, we just get "on line" and order it from the comforts of our own home. If we want to entertain our children we don't have to take them to the park to play we can just buy them a video game and that will keep them entertained for hours. The television has become a universal baby sitter which keeps us dull minded and out of shape. This type of mind set has contributed to our poor health. Why get up and exercise to lose weight and stay fit when I can just take this pill? Exercise takes too much effort. This diet I am on says I can eat whatever I want and still lose weight, why do I need to read labels and be responsible for what I put into my mouth?
Staying healthy and being fit is a Life Style. People need to train their minds to do the things necessary on a daily basis to achieve their fitness goals. Once you strengthen your mind it becomes difficult to put those empty calories into your mouth. It becomes difficult to miss that workout you have become accustomed to doing three to four times a week. Your body starts to crave the work you have been putting it through to stay healthy. Our bodies were designed to move. Our minds will quit long before our bodies will. If we tell ourselves it can't be done, then it won't be. If we say its too hard, it will never get easier. Just accept the fact that its going to be difficult and push through it, then it doesnt seem that bad once its done. Develope a strong mind and you will develope a strong body. Live strong mentally be strong physically. -Strong Mind, Strong Body-
